Ombre Hair Coloring (priced upon consultation)
What Is Ombre Hair Coloring?
Ombre hair coloring is a process by which a stylist applies color to make the hair gradually shift from one color to another from the root to the tip. It may be subtle in some cases, making the hair appear naturally kissed and lightened by the sun. It may also be very dramatic, shifting from white blonde to deep violet, or any other combination of colors. When the natural color forms the base of the ombre, grow-out is part of the look. Ombre works for any hair texture or type, too, whether curly or stick-straight, fine or thick.
The Process
Stylists apply ombre hair coloring using a balayage technique. This affords them the opportunity to create more subtle highlights in the middle of the hair shaft, and more pronounced highlights at the end. Ombre may combine two colors, or it may include more depending on the look the guest wants. In the event that a guest wants a brand new base hair color, then it is necessary to apply an all-over color treatment beforehand. The process may take anywhere from one to three hours depending on the guests’ wishes and hair length.
Aftercare
Ombre aftercare varies based on several factors. For those who choose to stick with their natural hair color as a base, it is possible to go a couple of months between touchups. Those who cut their hair frequently may need more maintenance since every trim snips away part of the ombre color. In this case, touch-ups once every six weeks or so may be more beneficial to the style. To maintain color, use color safe shampoos and conditioners. Protect the hair’s moisture with keratin-infused serums, moisturizing blow dry creams, or products containing natural oils.
