Hair Styles you can Wear Under a Hat
Contrary to popular belief, hats are not always worn just because someone may be having a “bad hair day.” Some people enjoy accessorizing with hats, and do not necessarily want to hide their amazing locks. Fortunately, there are a number of ways hair can be styled to allow you to enjoy wearing a hat, without appearing as though you are trying to cover something up.
Side Bun
A side bun is one of the easiest hat hair styles to create, and is very attractive whenever you are wearing a baseball cap or beret. To create a side bun, pull your hair to one side in a ponytail, and then secure it with an elastic tie just underneath the ear. Twist your hair into a neat bun, and then secure it to the side of your head with the hair tie. Use bobby pins or hair clips to provide more stability for the bun. Allow a few soft ringlets of hair to cascade down on either side to give your bun a softer, more feminine look.
Side-Swept Bangs
Regardless of whether you have short or long hair, sweeping your bangs to one side will help add an element of style whenever you are wearing beanie or stocking caps. Allow your bangs to sweep gently across your forehead, or even hang down over the top of one eyebrow if they are long enough. If you have fine, flyaway hair, you may need to add a bit of a firm hold styling product to your bangs to ensure they remain in place.
Cascading Waves
For shoulder-length or longer hair, make a part all the way down the back of the head so that you have a few strands to fall over top of either shoulder. While this can be done with straight hair, it will command far more attention if you add a few waves or curls to your hair first. When wearing only earmuffs, you may want to go a step further and gently tease the hair on the crown of your head so that your hair appears fuller.
Low Side or Back Ponytail
Just because you are wearing a ponytail with a hat does not mean you cannot be stylish. Secure your ponytail very low on your neck, ideally at the nape or lower. You may even pull your ponytail to one side of your head or another to show off your beautiful neck. This is something you may want to do if you are also wearing dangling earrings or a choker necklace. Feel free to add ribbons, beads or even feathers to your ponytail to give it a more exciting, unique look.
These are just a few of the hair styles that you can wear any time you put a hat on. As these styles show, it’s not necessary to completely cover a gorgeous head of hair, there are plenty of ways to show off your tresses while still enjoying the ability to accessorize with the use of a hat.
