3 Easy to Achieve Hairstyles from the 2016 VMAs
The 2016 VMAs came and went. But, not without giving us a few new—easy to achieve—hair styles. The celebrity hair trends have truly gone from one extreme to the other. Crazy colors and messy looks are now a thing of the past. The new look is one that’s surprisingly simple.
Yes, simple.
We know, it’s odd. And confusing.
“Why can’t they just make up their minds?”
Who knows! It’s Hollywood. Nothing is consistent.
Here’s what we learned:
The new look is one that’s natural, laid back, and—as previously mentioned—simple. There were three styles that absolutely stole the show.
The High Ponytail
The high pony tail was sported by some of the top celebs—the most recognized being Rihanna and Ariana Grande. Following them were Jasmine Tookes, Stella Maxwell, Taylor Hill, and Alicia Keys—who also chose to go with a natural, no make up look.
So, what’s this mean for you?
Well, it means that you don’t have to go through too much trouble to get an amazing, popular new look. A high pony tail is something any woman with long enough hair can wear. All you have to do pull your hair back following the natural line of your cheekbone. If you want, you can pull some of the pony tail out to frame your face. It’s really so easy.
The Center Part
Center parts were right behind high ponytails at this years’ event. Naomi Campbell, Joan Smalls, Nicki Minaj, and Holland Roden killed it. And, so can you. Again—it’s so easy.
The center part is great because it can go any face shape. It’s simply classic, yet intimidating. Donning it is all about working with what you have—don’t complicate things. If you need to, consult your hair stylist. They know you and your hair. Their advice is priceless. It can have you looking great in no time.
The Wet Look
A couple A-listers drew attention and set off sparks with the “wet” look. Zoe Larsson and Ashley Graham showed up looking like they just stepped out the shower. And everyone loved it.
Wet hair is a game changer that you can get using the following four easy steps:
- Spritze your hair using a mist
- Gel your hair and work through it—root to tip—using a fine tooth comb
- Use the comb to gently guide the hair up and back
- Apply hold
So easy!
