Try These 5 Super Simple Hair Hacks for the Best Beachy Waves This Season
Beachy waves are all the rage in the summer months, but not everyone lives close enough to the water to get them in the best way possible – playing in the ocean. Instead, you might have to rely on some outside help. Fortunately, the five super simple hacks below will have your hair looking wavy and sexy in no time.
#1 – Use a Curling Iron
Believe it or not, you can use a curling wand and a ponytail to get awesome beachy waves in about five minutes. To do it, pull your hair back into a loose ponytail at the back of your head, then use a big curling wand to add curls only to your ponytail. Believe it or not, this is probably the best tip out of the five to get waves that look like you just finished surfing the biggest wave of your life.
#2 – Air-Dried Buns
If you want to take a more passive approach to your beachy waves and don’t mind waiting a few hours, you can spend three minutes twisting your damp hair into two buns placed at the nape of your neck, pin them into place, and then wait. Once it’s dry, just carefully untwist the buns and you’ll have some amazing waves! For smoother-looking locks, wrap your hair in a silk scarf as you wait for it to dry.
#3 – Use Your Flat Iron
You can even use your flat iron to create some amazing waves, and it takes less than five minutes to do it. Just take half your hair, twist it down the length, and then use your flat iron to heat things up. The natural curls created in the twist will hold on ever so slightly thanks to the heat, and when you release the twist, you will be amazed by the curls that you see in the mirror.
#4 – Scrunch-and-Flip
If your hair has some natural waves, you can get an air-dried beachy look even simpler. Towel-dry your hair carefully until it is damp, then flip your head upside-down and scrunch. Take an old soft t-shirt and wrap this around your hair as you would a towel and wait for it to dry. The result will be amazing waves that you will have to see to believe. If you have short hair, this tip is a must.
#5 – Use a Small Barrel Curler
If all you have is a curling wand with a small barrel, you can still get some excellent waves. Just break your hair up into large sections to help disperse the heat, and when you release the wand, you’ll find big, bouncy waves instead of tight ringlets. If your waves are still a bit smaller than you would prefer due to the size of the wand, just run your fingers through them a bit while they are still warm to weigh them down and make the waves a bit bigger.
As you can see, no matter what type of hair you might have – and regardless of its length – there are some excellent ways to create gorgeous beachy waves. Whether you use a curling wand, a flat iron, or even an old t-shirt, each of these looks will have you craving a day at the beach in the sunshine.
